Proof of Learning Week 1

Let me first start off by saying, WOW.  This first week of class has been a stressful one.  I have gotten frustrated a couple of times, but looking back I feel like I have learned quite a lot in just one short week.  Before this course I had no idea how to blog.  It was something I never really got into online.  It took me a while to figure out exactly what I needed to do for this blog (consider it is now tuesday of the second week) but I think I finally got the hang out it.  I came into this class expecting a english class of sorts, where we would read articles and post about them in the discussion forum.  So far, this course has not been like this at all.  Which is good, because that would have been boring.  I enjoy reading about the types of topics we have been reading about and talking about them with other classmates.  Technology and how it effects society is such a prevalent issue nowadays, and it is fun to talk about.  It has pushed me to look at my own understandings of technology.  I have always thought that I have been pretty technology proficient, but this week has taught me there are many things technology has to offer that I have no idea about.  One of them being blogging.

The way this class is set up is very interesting.  I look forward to writing these proofs of learnings, because I feel that it forces us to review what we are exactly learning in the class.  This is a concept I have never really had experience with.  In most of my classes, we learn something, take a test or write a paper, and then seemingly forget it.  I feel that by reviewing what we have learned individually I will retain more information after the course is finished.  Looking ahead to what I know I need to improve on are the lab reports.  I am still trying to get the hang of the website we are using.  I am not sure if I am doing it right, but I will look into it more this week.  I also need to figure out what I want to research, and how I want to research it.  I have a few ideas, but I am open to reading more this week and seeing if anything else sparks my interest.
